Attendees Give Linkages Event High Marks

The January 2009 Linkages conference held by the Saskatchewan Environmental Industry Managers Association and sponsored by Communities of tomorrow drew positive reviews from those in attendance.

The one day event brought together approximately 80 researchers, companies, government representatives and investors to discuss mutual interests in developing and commercializing new technologies in sustainable infrastructure.

“This conference was an important demonstration of the dialogue that takes place when these different sectors are brought together with a common agenda,” said CT President John Lee. “The more often we can get in a room and share our thoughts and successes, the better.”

In an evaluation of the event, attendees rated the event as very useful (94%). They also indicated strong support for the idea of promoting research/business collaboration (72%). The January timing was rated as ideal by respondents, with 100% of those surveyed indicating that the schedule was right for them.

Communities of Tomorrow is pleased to working with SEIMA on planning a series of events that bring together innovators from all sectors to share their challenges and needs, and we look forward to assisting with the 2010 Linkages conference.
