The F 800 GS has garnered awards from the top three US motorcycling publications. That's an Impressive trifecta win in 2009 for the BMW F 800 GS as it received "Motorcycle of the Year" from Rider Magazine, "Best Adventure Bike" from Motorcyclist and "Best Dual-Sport Bike" from Cycle World.
It's no surprise that the F 800 GS is so loved by diehard Enduro riders, with a lightweight design and eye-popping power, the F 800 GS is the most off-road oriented GS ever built. A vertical parallel-twin engine based on the proven F 800 ST platform offers 85 horses and 62 ft-lb of torque, delivering startling speed and acceleration. Add a dry weight of just 392 lbs, switchable ABS, wide foot rests and a below-the-seat gas tank, for a very low center of gravity, and the F 800 GS is a dual-sport bike with amazing handling and all the prowess of a GS in a lighter package.
For 2010 model year we are pleased to offer the F 800 GS in two new colors: Alpine White and Lava Orange Metallic/Black Satin. The new Lava Orange Metallic color was originally launched on the awesome K 1300 S and has proven to be highly popular and it's sure to add a hint of sportiness to the F 800 GS.
The 2010 F 800 GS wrapped in new colors is at BMW Motorcycle dealerships now. Visit your favorite BMW dealer and take a F 800 GS for an extended demo ride and find out for yourself why it's one of the most popular BMW's ever launched.

Thanks to all those who attended our tent at the MotoGP event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana. We had one of the busiest tents at this year's event and the star of the infield was the new S 1000 RR. Our tent would routinely overflow with highly interested sport bike enthusiasts. We had two S 1000 RRs on the floor including one in the very hot Motorsports color scheme.
The Superbikes generated massive amount of interest, however the K 1300 S also grabbed a good deal of attention as many in the crowd had seen the Sport Rider magazine article (featured in our August issue) where our K 1300 S dethroned the Hayabusa to become the new king of the Hypersport class.
Take an extended demo ride on the K 1300 S at your favorite BMW Motorcycle dealer. To find the dealer nearest you please click here.

USA Today Covers
BMW Off-Road Academy
"Adventure is what happens
when the pavement ends"
Here's a very interesting article in USAToday.com featuring the BMW GS series and our Off-Road Academy West at the RawHyde Adventures facility in Southern California. USA Today sent Bill Welch to the BMW Off-Road Academy where he could learn the basics of adventure riding and explore the GS lifestyle.
Welch's article includes such memorable lines as "The familiar blue and white roundel is the logo you want on your tank if you're heading off for Tierra del Fuego -- or want to feel like you could".
The article also has quotes from the attendees at the BMW Off-Road Academy, and mentions our East coast facility, BMW Performance Center, in Spartanburg, SC, as well as Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's famous long distance adventures.
USA Today's website averages approximately 14 million unique monthly visitors. Please click on this link to see the article. |
